Poland’s deputy energy minister Grzegorz Tobiszowski in a rare public endorsement has reassured the wind power sector over government plans to tender off 2.5GW in new onshore capacity (and 700MW in PV) this year, and confirmed a target of 10.3GW offshore wind capacity by 2040.

“Diversification of the national energy production structure will gain momentum in the next years. This is one of the directions laid down in the draft 2040 Energy Policy of Poland,” Tobiszowski said during a visit to wind farms in central Poland organised by the Polish Wind Energy Association (PWEA) this week.
