It is not entirely clear yet within which organisational structure Siemens Gamesa will be embedded once Siemens has transferred its majority stake in the wind OEM unit to Siemens Power & Gas.
But whatever the structure, and wherever it will be headquartered, it is clear that offshore wind will be an increasingly large part of the business.
Siemens Gamesa this week said that for the first time it made more investments in offshore than in onshore wind during its last financial quarter that ended in March.
