India and Denmark will set up a joint renewable energy ‘centre of excellence’ with a focus on offshore wind, the Indian government announced.

A co-operation pact between the two was signed off by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The centre will be located in India and promote co-operation in areas including “technical capacity building for management of offshore wind projects [and] measures to develop and sustain a highly efficient wind industry, onshore as well as offshore”.
