Turbine installation at the 3GW Chokecherry and Sierra Madre (CCSM) wind project in Wyoming has been pushed back by several years, delaying one of the largest potential orders in the market’s history – but the developer insists the wind farm will still secure the full production tax credit (PTC).

Rather than building CCSM in two 500-turbine phases as originally envisaged, getting part of the project in operation more quickly, Power Company of Wyoming has decided to focus first on completing infrastructure like roads and turbine pads across the entire site, before then turning to turbine installation.
