Brazil’s upper legislative house has approved the first regulatory guidelines needed to allow the country to tender blocks for the construction of offshore wind projects.
A bill was approved in the Senate this week but still needs approval in the Lower House, where debates are expected to start in the new year.
Discussions over offshore development began in late 2016 but have divided opinion in the country.
