As outlined in WindEurope’s policy blueprint, floating wind is the most sensible way for the EU to maximise its chance of meeting its 2030 renewable energy targets.

Achieving that depends on relevant member states setting out to include it in their respective National Energy and Climate Plans (NECPs), and coordinating their efforts to generate the visibility project financiers and supply chains require to match the massive job creation, accelerated cost reductions and unchallenged European leadership observed over the last two decades with bottom-fixed offshore wind (BFOW).
