California Governor Jerry Brown on Monday signed into law a statewide 100% clean-power goal by 2045, an historic raising of the bar in a state whose $2.7trn economy recently eclipsed the UK as the world’s fifth largest.
SB 100 received its final approval in California’s legislature late last month after several years of debate over the impact of such an ambitious target on the state’s energy market and broader economy.
