Canadian infrastructure giant Enbridge has sold C$1.75bn ($1.35bn) of renewable energy assets to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) via a joint venture created by the two that will target European offshore wind investments.

Enbridge will put into the JV all of its Canadian renewables assets, 49% of its German offshore wind interests, and the same share in two US wind and solar plants

The German offshore wind projects concerned comprise the Hohe See and Albatros arrays where construction is currently underway to deploy 609MW in the North Sea.
