In my September column, I noted that France’s intention to ban sales of petrol and diesel cars by 2040 may look radical at first pass, but does not impress Silicon Valley gurus who foresee exponential growth in clean energy. There won’t be any left to ban by then, according to their view of how fast the global energy transition is unfolding.
Can anyone still doubt the fossil-fuel industry has had its day?
