Ocean Winds, the joint venture made up of Portugal’s EDP Renewables and France’s Engie, has received the all-clear from Polish regional authorities to develop its flagship BC-Wind offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea.

Completion of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process for the 400MW array, under development since 2012, takes Ocean Winds development plans for the project sited 23km (14 miles) off Krokowa and Choczewo in Pomorskie Voivodeship “significantly closer” to starting power production, said Ocean Winds COO Grzegorz Gorski.
