Automotive giant Mercedes-Benz will tap offshore wind to power a quarter of its operations in its home market Germany, as large corporations continue to look to the sector to secure supplies and help hit decarbonisation goals.
The group confirmed to Recharge that it has “secured a long-term contract with a large energy provider” from 2027 equivalent to 25% of the requirements of its German operations.
