The recently adopted EU-wide revenue price cap for renewable generation risks threatening Europe’s power purchase agreement (PPA) market for green electricity, which has already been receding during the first three quarters of this year, WindEurope and SolarPower Europe said in a joint statement at the start of the RE-Source 2022 event in Amsterdam.

Energy ministers of the 27 EU member states at a meeting last Friday had approved a proposal made earlier by the European Commission to cap renewable, nuclear and lignite energy revenues at €180/MWh ($177/MWh).
