While Oregon is likely a decade away or more from commercial deployment of floating wind turbines, its fisheries sector is wasting no time ramping up opposition with the launch of a new website aimed at disseminating information to counter the advance of the offshore wind sector.

Protect US Fishermen, a coalition of more than two dozen fisheries organisations concerned about the environmental and economic impacts of proposed offshore wind farms in the Pacific Ocean, launched its website, it said, to raise awareness of the “harm that offshore development could bring”.
