All countries surrounding the Baltic Sea bar Russia at a meeting in Copenhagen have signed a declaration for more cooperation in offshore wind, with the target to reach 19.6GW in capacity by 2030.

Today, only 2.8GW of wind power capacity is installed in the Baltic Sea, most of it in Germany and Denmark, which ahead of the 'Baltic Energy Security Summit' also signed a bilateral deal to turn the Danish island of Bornholm into an 'energy island' with 3GW of offshore wind installed around it that is to be linked to both countries.
