First recyclable SGRE offshore blades spinning at RWE project in Germany

RWE has installed a first turbine at its 342MW Kaskasi project in the German North Sea, which for the first time uses recyclable blades by Siemens Gamesa.

"We are committed to making disruptive technology innovation commercially viable with the pace that the climate emergency demands,” Siemens Gamesa offshore chief executive Marc Becker said.

“We've brought the Siemens Gamesa RecyclableBlade technology to market in only 10 months: from launch in September 2021 to installation at RWE's Kaskasi project in July 2022.
