One of the world’s largest floating wind farms could be supplying green power to the giant Troll and Oseberg oil & gas fields off Norway as soon as 2027 under a plan being studied by Norwegian energy giant Equinor in conjunction with a clutch of other major hydrocarbons players.

Equinor said it has linked with Petoro, TotalEnergies, Shell and ConocoPhillips to look at options for the 1GW Trollvind project in the Troll area 65km off Bergen, a project that would take decarbonisation of fossil assets by renewables to the next level.
