Two key committees of the European Parliament in a joint meeting voted against the inclusion of nuclear power and fossil gas in the EU’s classification scheme that labels energy projects as sustainable and opens the way for financing.
The European Commission in February proposed granting the technologies the EU green label under certain circumstances, but could now be forced to rethink if a plenary of the European Parliament follows the committees.
