Global offshore wind champion Orsted has found itself dragged into a row over paying for Russian fossil gas supplies in roubles as CEO Mads Nipper said the company wouldn't “accommodate the demands” of President Vladimir Putin.

Orsted – ironically one of the key players in shifting Europe away from reliance on hydrocarbons – has become embroiled in a Europe-wide standoff with Putin due to its domestic role as a utility supplier to Danish homes.
