Floating wind power technology developer Seawind’s plans to install a prototype of its innovative design, a two-bladed turbine fitted to a concrete platform, have been boosted by backing from Japanese industrialists JGC and Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL).

The agreement clears the way for a “collaborative pathway” for the Dutch-headquartered outfit's activities in Asia-Pacific, as well as its “soon to be disclosed” 6MW demonstration unit off Europe .
