Equinor and BP have selected Jacobs for the detailed design of New York’s South Brooklyn Marine Terminal that is set to serve as an operations and maintenance base and staging and assembly hub for 3.3GW of offshore wind capacity the developers, through the Empire Offshore Wind (EOW) joint venture, are building in the US Atlantic.

The architectural and engineering design services contract, the value of which was not disclosed, includes oversight for the modification of existing bulkheads to strengthen and accommodate heavy lift operations, dredging, utility upgrade, permitting, and construction support on the giant wind port redevelopment.
