Project timelines for offshore wind will have to be delayed unless more new installation vessels are built, Jonas Munch Agerskov, chief commercial officer at Maersk Supply Service, tells Recharge.

He made his comments after the Danish shipping giant announced it is entering the offshore wind installation business, with a firm contract from BP and Equinor’s Empire Wind joint venture for a new vessel to serve the 2GW-plus lead-off two phases of the huge project off New York.
