Work restarted to build one of France’s first offshore wind farms that was last year hit by fishing protests and pollution scares, as its Iberdrola-owned developer vowed to work flat out to complete the project by the end of 2023 – more than a decade after its award in a tender.

The Van Oord-owned vessel Aeolus is back at the site of the Saint-Brieuc project off Britanny, northwest France, where it will install the foundations for the Siemens Gamesa turbines used at the 496MW project.
