China builds Asia's largest wind turbine as Dongfang rolls out 13MW monster

Asia’s most powerful wind turbine to be built so far rolled off the production lines of China’s Dongfang Electric (DEC), which hailed completion of the 13MW offshore nacelle as a new milestone for the sector there.

The typhoon-proof turbine – which rivals the supersized models developed by western players such as GE and Siemens Gamesa – builds on the 10MW direct-drive platform already deployed in 2020 by DEC.
