A Shell-led consortium has won Dutch government backing for its FlexH2 offshore-wind-to-hydrogen research project that it said could push down annual transmission costs from 4GW of capacity by €100m ($112.73m).

FlexH2, which stands for Flexible Offshore Wind Hydrogen Power Plant Module, aims to develop technology that researchers said will accelerate the scale-up of offshore wind, green hydrogen production and its integration into the energy system.
