'World's deepest, Europe's most powerful': Seagreen raises offshore wind bar with first Vestas 10MW

Europe’s most powerful wind turbine installed so far hit the water off Scotland as the first Vestas V164-10.0 MW machine was deployed for the £3bn ($4bn) Seagreen project underway by TotalEnergies and UK utility SSE.

Installation of the turbine on it 2,000 tonne, three-legged caisson jacket foundation is the first for the Vestas model and once connected takes Europe into double digits in terms of rated capacity – China installed a 10MW turbine in 2020.
