GE Renewable Energy saw wider losses in the third quarter of 2021 as a range of factors weighed on its profitability – but orders spiked sharply thanks to the increasingly important impact of the group’s offshore wind operations on its business performance.

The renewables equipment arm of US industrial giant GE booked a loss of $151m for the July-September period, increasing a $51m deficit seen a year earlier.
