Scots could own stakes in floating wind farms as Orsted group eyes pioneering scheme

Scottish residents could be among the world’s first to own community stakes in major floating wind farms under plans by sector giant Orsted and its partners in the ScotWind leasing round.

Orsted, floating wind pioneer BlueFloat Energy and developer Falck Renewables will look at community ownership as part of their joint bids to develop large-scale floating capacity off Scotland's coast.
