Orsted through a combination of floating and fixed-bottom wind technology in Scotland aims to reach economies of scale and commercialise the less mature floating technology, the Danish utility’s UK chief, Duncan Clark, told Recharge.

The company yesterday had revealed that it plans to invest up to £12bn ($16.4bn) directly with Scottish companies in developing and building offshore wind farms over the next ten years if it were to be successful with its multiple bids in the current ScotWind leasing round.
