Swedish utility Vattenfall has increased its emission reduction goals, and now pledges to reach net zero by 2040.
The new targets aim to contribute to keeping global warming at a maximum of 1.5°C and have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which according to the company is providing external validation in line with the latest climate research.
