The proposed Arthur Kill Terminal offshore wind staging and assembly hub in the New York City borough of Staten Island is under federal review for funding to be built as 1GW/year facility that could enter operation by the end of 2025, Recharge has learned.

The US’ largest privately-owned offshore wind port is planned for a 32-acre parcel of undeveloped land adjacent to the Arthur Kill channel that has direct access to the Atlantic Ocean and importantly, unrestricted overhead clearance, where some other such facilities would have to transport large manufacturing components under bridges en route to open water.
