The American utility arm of global renewables giant Iberdrola unveiled a raft of plans for large-scale green hydrogen across the US, including tapping east coast offshore wind and electrolysis on Texas’s Gulf of Mexico coast.

Avangrid, which is majority-owned by Spain-based Iberdrola, said it could use expertise from major renewable hydrogen projects underway by its parent group in Europe as it responded to a US government call for concepts that can deliver low-cost green hydrogen at scale.
