The UK onshore wind sector reported more than 500 safety incidents in 2020, according to debut statistics released by the industry along with a pledge to improve performance.

Of the 532 incidents reported, 77 were classed as “high potential” with the risk of causing death or a life changing fatality – although there were no fatalities in the British onshore sector last year, said health and safety body SafetyOn that gathered data from 58 member companies.
