Fishing vessels again laid siege to the Saint-Brieuc offshore wind project on Thursday, in the latest challenge to the €2.4bn ($2.9bn) development that’s due to be among the first in French waters.

Officials from France’s Maritime Prefecture appealed for calm as the vessels surrounded the Aethra vessel that is carrying out cable trenching work at the site off Brittany for Ailes Marines, the subsidiary of global renewables giant Iberdrola that is building the 496MW wind farm.
