The global wind industry will need to train around half a million more employees in just five years to support massive expansion of the market while sticking to health and safety standards, said a new study.

The skilled workforce will be needed to build, operate and maintain an expected 490GW of capacity expected to come online by mid-decade, according to a report released by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) and industry training body GWO, along with Renewables Consulting Group.
