Tonbridge is building a 214-mile line between Great Falls and Lethbridge, Alberta province, Canada, that will also provide transmission capacity for wind-power development. BPA is a self-funding federal agency based in Portland, Oregon, that operates about 75% of the high-voltage transmission lines in its eight-state service territory. This comprises Idaho, Oregon, Washington, eastern and western Montana, and parts of California, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.
Irish developer reserves space on Montana line
Ireland's Gaelectric says it has reserved priority position on a key US interstate transmission system as part of its plan to invest $2bn in Montana wind-development projects and sell the power to the West Coast.
