The concessions, won in a competitive bidding process by Magma’s Italian subsidiary, are PR Mensano and PR Roccastrada, and represent a new geography for Magma, which is exploring, developing or operating geothermal assets in Iceland, Nevada, Chile and Argentina.
The concessions are near the town of Larderello, centre of a region that is home to the world’s first geothermal plant and has 32 plants in operation today.
