Paris-based Orbeo, a carbon-credit joint-venture of Société Générale and industrial chemicals firm Rhodia, has agreed to acquire OneCarbon’s core activities and 85 employees.
“OneCarbon has built a significant expertise in the development of high-quality projects generating greenhouse gas emission offsets,” says Orbeo president Philippe Rosier. “By teaming up, we want to build up strong positions in the carbon-offset sourcing business.”
The transaction, which is subject to antitrust authorities, is expected to be finalised by fourth-quarter 2009.
