Tests on 16 Nordtank NTK 1500/64/80s at the Sustrum-Renkenberge wind farm in northern Germany found that the patented technology, which records data in front of the rotor, corrected yaw misalignments in the machines of between 11.8 and 21.7 degrees, boosting production.
“Altogether, the measurements taken with iSpin provided us with an annual additional revenue of €275,000 [$310,600], with the 19 turbines producing on average 182,500kWh annually,” says Claus-Eric Gärtner, managing director of BVT Windpark Sustrum-Renkenberge.
