TotalEnergies has opened a UK offshore wind hub in the North Sea oil industry port city of Aberdeen, Scotland, which it said will enable the transition of staff from oil and gas to offshore wind.

The hub will be part of the transitioning French oil & gas major’s existing offshore operations centre in Aberdeen.

“With the energy transition gathering speed, we see Scotland as a great place to broaden our relationship by investing in offshore wind,” chief executive Patrick Pouyanné said.
