One of the world’s largest steel makers, ArcelorMittal, is planning a giant wind and solar facility allied with pumped hydro to provide round-the-clock green power.

The Luxembourg-headquartered steel group will spend $600m on a 975MW wind and PV plant in Andhra Pradesh, southern India, said a statement.

Owned and financed by ArcelorMittal, the plant will be developed and built by India-based renewables group Greenko.
