Siemens Gamesa wind technology guru Jesper Møller is leaving the turbine maker after over 20 years to join Stiesdal Offshore Technologies (SOT).

Møller, who had been with the OEM for 21 years, lastly as head of offshore concepts, becomes head of sales and business development at SOT, which was started by industry leading-light Henrik Stiesdal in 2018 to develop next-generation clean energy technologies, including the recently launched TetraSpar floating wind concept.

“I am happy to announce that I have started a new leg of my future work life. After almost 21 fantastic years with Siemens Gamesa (formerly Siemens Wind Power and Bonus Energy) with truly great colleagues, I have decided to resign and pursue new exiting opportunities,” stated Møller, in a LinkedIn post.

“I am even happier to announce that last week I have started working for the Stiesdal company, excited to be part of another industry adventure.”

He added: “I am happy and proud of having been a part of an industry success story in wind energy and happy about having been a part of an amazing growth story for both the industry and the company.”

Møller, a Recharge Thought Leader and panellist on past Recharge roundtables, described SOT as an “ambitious and game changing company… with a clear focus on climate technology”.

“I have joined a group of clever people with tons of drive, I am looking forward to trying to keep up with them,” he said.
