Doubling the installed capacity of onshore wind in Scotland and greater support for offshore energy are among the pledges under a historic power sharing deal between the Scottish National Party and the Greens in the nation that will later this year host the COP26 climate summit.

The agreement will give the Scottish Greens two ministers in the devolved Scottish government and marks a high-water mark for green influence in UK policymaking under a deal struck following May elections that saw the SNP fall short of an overall majority in the Scottish Parliament.
