The American Council on Renewable Energy (Acore) has named Kevin Gresham to succeed Declan Flanagan as its board chair.

Gresham, who is senior vice president of government relations and external affairs at RWE Renewables Americas, takes on the post held by Flanagan since June 2020.

“I am honored that my colleagues have elected me to serve as the chair of Acore’s board of directors, and I look forward to working with my colleagues and the Acore executive team to further grow the renewable energy sector,” said Gresham.

“Acore is well-positioned to make a substantial impact during this critical moment for the energy transition, and I am excited to get to work on behalf of our membership.”

Acore CEO Gregory Wetstone: “We are incredibly grateful for Declan Flanagan’s service and guidance through a time of unprecedented institutional growth despite an array of challenges for the renewable sector.

“Now we are poised to emerge from the pandemic stronger than ever under the able guidance of Kevin Gresham as the new chair. Widely respected for his wealth of energy sector knowledge and experience, Kevin’s leadership will be tremendously helpful as we continue to strengthen Acore and double down on our mission to accelerate America’s transition to renewable energy.”

Gresham has more than 30 years of experience in the power industry. Prior to joining RWE, he held a directorship at RRI Energy, where he was engaged in matters related to US grids including ERCOT, PJM, MISO, California, and the West.
