European offshore wind consultancy start-up Green Ducklings has hired in Orsted R&D chief Christian Aabo as its chief product consultant.

Aabo has been a driving force in the Danish utility’s transition from oil & gas operator to renewables supermajor over the past decade, as well as previously holding key strategic roles at wind turbine makers NEG-Micon, Suzlon and Vestas.

“As a key step to roll out our vision for Green Ducklings 2.0, we are over the moon to announce that Christina Aabo has joined the team,” said company managing director Kristian Ascanius Jacobsen, adding that her appointment is anointed by the “expansion mandate granted to us under ownership of Integrated Wind Solutions”.

In her new post, Aabo is tasked with leveraging her domain knowhow to support clients in “fast and smart implementation of offshore wind strategies, and in her internal capacity to help further build and refine the product offerings of Green Ducklings”, he said.

Aabo said: “This agile and rather experienced consultancy team aiming at supporting companies in their ‘black2green’ transformation is a perfect fit for me on the mission of accelerating wind power globally.

“I really look forward to work in a dynamic team where we cover all the strategic aspects for any company considering entering or expanding the business into wind energy offshore be it fixed or floating.”

Aabo is a Recharge Thought Leader and has presented at past Recharge Energy Transition Summit events.
