The new left-right coalition government of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen plans to move forward the country’s net-zero climate target by five years to 2045, and will set up a national energy crisis team (NEKST) to reduce the use of fossil gas and speed up the construction of solar and wind power.

Frederiksen late Tuesday had formed her government consisting of her own Social Democrats, the conservative Moderates and the liberal Venstre party, announcing a series of upcoming social, tax and energy policy reforms.
