Japan is on track to have a first in-steam tidal power demonstrator in the water later this year, with technology supplier Simec Atlantis Energy having opened an office in Nagasaki to support a ¥1.8bn ($16.5m) pilot project being developed by Kyuden Mirai off the south-west tip of the island nation.
