Swiss equipment maker Meyer Burger, which is Germany’s biggest solar manufacturer, has threatened to relocate production to the US amid calls by the industry for additional support for produce with a high local content.
After trying to re-shore the solar supply chain to Europe in recent years that was lost a decade earlier, the sector is currently struggling again to compete with Chinese rivals, which they claim are selling their modules at dumping prices in Europe.
