Germany this year for the first time ever generated more than half of its power from renewables.
Renewable energy covered almost 52% of Germany’s electricity needs this year, according to preliminary figures released today (Monday). That marks a 5% increase from the year before.
The research was carried out by the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg and the Federal Association of the Energy and Water Industry (BDEW).
