Germany’s transmission system operators (TSOs) expect solar additions to reach a record of 8.5GW next year, but relatively subdued wind power expansion, the country’s federal networks agency BNetzA said.

The solar installations forecast for next year would be higher than the 5.3GW and 4.8GW expansion seen in 2021 and 2020, respectively.

Germany's solar industry federation (BSW-Solar) has not made a prediction for this year - but in May noted an all-time high for the solar sector business climate, with nearly one in six German home owners planning to install a system for power or heat generation in the coming 12 months, according to a YouGov poll.
