Germany and Australia plan to form a ‘hydrogen accord’ to enable exports of renewable H2 produced on an industrial scale from Down Under to Europe’s largest economy.

German economics and energy minister Peter Altmaier, the country’s science minister Anja Karliczek and Australian energy minister Angus Taylor signed a declaration of intent over the plan. It includes Germany co-funding massive green hydrogen plants in Australia, in return for the usage of German electrolyser technology at those projects.
